Planned Solutions Change In Market Leadership
In this episode of the Planned Solutions Incorporated Podcast, There has been a shift in stock market leadership since November 2020 which has continued into early 2021. Whereas large company US stocks outperformed their peers in 2020 the trends seem to be reversing. Small and Mid-sized companies are already outperforming large company stocks. Foreign stocks are showing signs of taking over leadership from US stocks. Meanwhile, value stocks have made some headway against growth stocks. Also, both the manufacturing and services survey data released by the Institute for Supply Management for December show that the economy is growing and that the pace of growth is accelerating. This is a positive sign for the US economy as it transitions to a new year following a difficult economic environment in 2020. And, The IRS enforces maximum contribution limits to employer-sponsored retirement plans such as 401k, 403b, and 457 plans. Plan sponsors are usually good about monitoring these contribution limits but in some cases, a participant may find that they contributed more than the allowed maximum.
