Silent Comics, Part 1

Published: Nov. 22, 2019, noon

The easiest French comics to read would be the silent ones -- there's nothing to translate! As it happens, Lewis Trondheim wrote four of them that did get translated (!) about 15 years ago, and that's what this show is about: Li'l Santa, Mr. O, and Mr. I. They're all great books, and I'm going to explain why. Thierry Robin's previous work that I've reviewed: "https://www.pipelinecomics.com/communism-can-be-funny-the-death-of-stalin/ (The Death of Stalin)" Mister 0 (https://amzn.to/2OuOgVy (Amazon) [affiliate link]) Mister I (https://amzn.to/2OaI2Lr (Amazon) [affiliate link]) In the next episode, I'll cover a bunch of silent French comics that you might also track down, including one that still has never been "translated."
