Dr. Asha Pai Bohannon has more than 23 years of experience in the healthcare industry.\\xa0 She is a Holistic Doctor of Pharmacy and the owner of PAI Wellness Group, LLC in Raleigh, North Carolina.\\xa0 She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Asha is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) and Certified Personal Trainer (CPT).\\xa0 She is also certified in Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and Immunization.

In her practice at PAI Wellness Group, Dr. Asha uses a unique, 7 Steps to H.A.R.M.O.N.Y.\\u2122 process and a 360-degree holistic, individualized approach to helping her patients manage their health and wellness, using as few medications as possible. Dr. Asha is especially focused on and adept at helping men and women manage pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and gestational diabetes.\\xa0

Recently, Dr. Asha published a book entitled To Medicate or Not? That Is the Question: How to Improve Your Blood Test Results, in which she describes her 7 Steps to H.A.R.M.O.N.Y.\\u2122 and the many factors that come into play in order to achieve a healthier life.

Her newest passion comes in the form of a collaboration with her husband Eric:\\xa0 helping other Pharmacists find their passion and purpose and create the opportunity that is right for them. With their Biz Rx\\u2122 service, they want to be \\u201cThe prescription for YOUR business!\\u201d

I invited Asha to be on my podcast because she advocates for patient health and wellness as well as pharmacist entrepreneurship in her practice at PAI Wellness Group.\\xa0 We met at the 2018 Medipreneurs Conference in Asheville, North Carolina.\\xa0 I\\u2019m glad we met, and it\\u2019s been a pleasure to watch her develop her business over the past two years. \\xa0

Q:\\xa0 What\\u2019s the craziest thing you\\u2019ve seen so far in your business?

A:\\xa0 In her wellness practice, some people will not spend money on their own healthcare.\\xa0 In Biz Rx\\u2122, some Pharmacists undervalue themselves.

Q:\\xa0 What do you love most about your business?

A:\\xa0 Flexibility:\\xa0 working around family\\u2019s schedule.\\xa0 Asha wears a lot of hats.\\xa0 She has a flexible schedule and can work with clients on their time.\\xa0 She also enjoys working with her husband.\\xa0 Making an impact on the profession of pharmacy is very rewarding too! \\xa0

Q:\\xa0 How did you overcome the fear and the little voice in your head that you can\\u2019t do this, Asha?

A:\\xa0 It\\u2019s a growing process.\\xa0 It took her some time to get over her own imposter syndrome.\\xa0 Now, she gets to help others get over it!\\xa0 \\u201cJust do it.\\xa0 Pick yourself up.\\xa0 Dust yourself off.\\xa0 Keep moving forward.\\u201d\\xa0 Asha is also inspired by her kids; she doesn\\u2019t want them to see her fail. \\xa0

Q:\\xa0 What\\u2019s something people don\\u2019t realize about being a pharmacist mom and an entrepreneur? \\xa0

A:\\xa0 It\\u2019s difficult to be in a traditional pharmacist role.\\xa0 She missed a lot of her kids\\u2019s stuff because she was tied to her work schedule.\\xa0 She was stressed and couldn\\u2019t be present.\\xa0 As a pharmacist Mom entrepreneur, she enjoys the flexibility of being present for her job, her family, and her other commitments. \\xa0

Q:\\xa0 Agree or disagree, starting a business is like having another child? \\xa0

A:\\xa0 Agree.\\xa0 The first 2-3 years during launch, yes!\\xa0 Her business sets her soul on fire.\\xa0 She wants to jump out of bed in the morning and work! \\xa0

\\xa0

Q:\\xa0 What did it feel like when you got that first client?

A:\\xa0 AMAZING!\\xa0 But, nerve-wracking.\\xa0 She wants to deliver the results clients need.\\xa0 Extra time and energy goes into making sure everything is just right so that she gives a good quality experience.\\xa0 (That goes for both sides of Asha\\u2019s business!)

Q:\\xa0 What is the best thing that has happened to you since you started?

A:\\xa0 Being able to help people and make an impact in their lives.\\xa0 Also, helping people find options they haven\\u2019t considered yet.\\xa0
