In Episode 02, I talked about coaches and how they have helped me.\\xa0 Without help, I would not be where I am today.\\xa0 This episode is not a how-to lesson on getting started in voiceover.\\xa0 I\\u2019m just sharing my story.

My first motorcycle was a Honda Shadow VLX.\\xa0 Now, I drive a BMW C400X scooter.

I took the Basic Rider Course through the Ohio Department of Public Safety.\\xa0 Some call it the \\u201cMotorcycle Ohio Program.\\u201d\\xa0 motorcycle.ohio.gov\\xa0

I like structured programming that is organized into bite-sized chunks, experienced teachers, hands-on training, and peer support.\\xa0 Facebook Groups and accountability buddies are helpful. \\xa0

For anyone making a career transition or learning a new skill, keep an eye on what is working and what is not.\\xa0 Have clear goals, and recognize when something isn\\u2019t a good fit.\\xa0 The right coach can really help, and it\\u2019s ok to revisit missed opportunities at a later time. \\xa0

My first business coach was Sandra Wharton at the Women\\u2019s Economic Opportunity Center at the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center in Ft. Wayne, IN.\\xa0 I found her on the Small Business Administration\\u2019s website in June 2017.

As, I transition from pharmacist to voice actor, I like to find people I trust and listen to them.\\xa0 I\\u2019m human, though, and I do make mistakes. \\xa0

Beware the illusory truth effect (\\u201cvalidity effect,\\u201d \\u201ctruth effect,\\u201d or the \\u201creiteration effect\\u201d).\\xa0 People believe false information to be correct after repeated exposure.\\xa0 I like evidence-based decisions.\\xa0 When learning something new, find experts.\\xa0 Do research.\\xa0 Don\\u2019t make major purchases or decisions without thinking them through.\\xa0 It\\u2019s not a race.\\xa0 I\\u2019m 2.5 years into my journey, and I\\u2019m still not where I want to be.\\xa0
