b"Talked with Jonathon Taylor, Program Director, Police Athletic League of WPB, and Joyce Pernicone, Programming Librarian, Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach. Jonathon works with PAL and their goal is to prevent juvenile crime and violence. They have law enforcement officers come and work with the kids, lots of time playing sports. The kids can participate in a lot of great activities including: sports (wrestling, basketball, football, dance), #PALTeenClub and a new program with Robotics/Drones. They have two fundraisers coming up: Clays for Kids on November 9th and then Ballroom Blitz, April 5th 2019. Listeners can get more info at Westpalmbeachpal.com. Joyce is working with a new program at Mandel public library for Studio 411. It's a creative art space that was formed to create one central location for artistic adults to create, explore, and learn about a variety of arts and crafts from painting, drawing and sculpture to crocheting, soap-making and jewelry-making. Classes and supplies are free but listeners must register to due class size. To sign up or for more information they can go to wpb.org and click on the link for the library."
