Vanuatu's former prime minister Charlot Salwai avoids prison after being convicted of perjury
Charlot Salwai is the fourth former prime minister of Vanuatu to be given a custodial sentence in recent years and while he will have to vacate his seat in Parliament, it is unclear yet if he will appeal.
