Eyes on the Prize\xa0 Episode 1\xa0\xa0"Awakenings (1954\u20131956)"Chronicles the murder of Emmett Till\n\nEyes on the Prize\xa0is an American\xa0television series\xa0and 14-part\xa0documentary\xa0about the\xa0Civil Rights Movement\xa0in the\xa0United States. The documentary originally aired on the\xa0PBS\xa0network and it also aired in the United Kingdom on\xa0BBC2. Created and executive produced by\xa0Henry Hampton\xa0at the film production company Blackside and narrated by\xa0Julian Bond, the series uses\xa0archival footage, stills and interviews by participants and opponents of the movement. The title of the series is derived from the title of the\xa0folk song\xa0"Keep Your Eyes on the Prize," which is used as the opening theme music in each episode.\n\nOur Common Ground presents ON-DEMAND selected episodes of\xa0 this powerful teaching tool, "Eyes on the Prize".
