Rick talks us through his influences and the challenges he\\u2019s come across so far, but mostly we talk about the watches. S\\u014d Labs is a young Chicago-based brand with an unconventional design proposition. Layers. Layers and colours. The traditional layout of hands and numbers isn\\u2019t a part of S\\u014d Labs design language; instead, the brand uses a series of colourful shapes to create a layered effect that is surprisingly intuitive but also not like anything else you\\u2019d see on the market. Novel looks will only get you so far, so it\'s fortunate that the brand has the build quality to back it up.
