Neil Ferrier is Discommon’s chief conspirator. A Scottish mechanical engineer who ended up founding and running an agile industrial design agency with a fascinating client list and output. He’s made straight razors for Deadpool, crazy tables for anonymous clients and everything in between. But one of the most interesting product development stories is the one behind Discommon’s humble duffle bag, which has been six years in the making and takes some surprising twists and turns (and actual bags of cash).

If you’ve ever wondered just what it takes to turn an idea into something concrete, this is a must-listen. We also chat about his recent work with OT alum Iris Listenwell, Discommon\'s fan-favourite watch roll and watch wallet. And then no holds are barred when he discusses why he thinks watchmakers need to enlist the help of industrial designers (spoiler, he thinks most watch cases are basic).

We also talk about how Neil hustled and used his east-Asian manufacturing experience to bring a Boeing Dreamlifter full of facemasks into South Carolina in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This episode is brought to you by NOMOS Glash\\xfctte, who recently launched a series of limited edition Lambda watches in steel to celebrate 175 years of watchmaking in Glash\\xfctte.
