Beaverton author announced as finalist for literary awards

In Rachel K. Jones\u2019 fantasy/horror story \u201cThe Sound of Children Screaming,\u201d a fourth-grade teacher and her students find themselves in a magical world during a school shooting. The story draws inspiration from real-life events. The Beaverton author\u2019s short story is a finalist for several literary awards, including the Hugo, Nebula and Bram Stoker awards.
