Red talks about his new suit. When the phone rings, he gets a gig at the policeman\\u2019s ball. Is he as big of a shot as his secretary, Edna Stillwell? Should he take the tickets to see the big fight, or stick to his public speaking class? The instructor in proper diction could use some lessons themself. Janette sings, I never Knew.

At the policeman\\u2019s ball, Red and Edna dance, but his jitterbug moves Donn\\u2019t impress anyone. Hercules shows his stuff as a uniformed cop.

The show is about to start, and Red takes his place. Try as he might, he just can\\u2019t get a laugh from the bulls.
