Payne, who co-founded Little Feat with the late, great Lowell George 35 years ago, has been Little Feat\\u2019s keyboardist \\u2013 and its pilot \\u2013 throughout the band\\u2019s existence, writing and singing such beloved classics as "Oh Atlanta," "Day or Night," "Time Loves a Hero\\u201c and \\u201dGringo,\\u201c while \\u201dsteering a ship that was rudderless," as he puts it. He\\u2019s also contributed to hundreds of records as a sideman.
