"I bought my first pair of CDJ100s 15 years ago, paying for them with postal money orders... Then, attending club nights every weekend I started to hang out with DJs and club enthusiasts and I, somehow, ended up playing DJ sets for six or seven years. After that, I sold my console and records but I kept on doing gigs from time to time, without sticking to a well-defined genre. I have played indie sets for the "Unknown Pleasures tee" kinda crowds, but also a lot of disco and house sets for the dancefloor connoisseurs. I am aware that I might sound a bit naive, but, what I really care about... is to make people dance, and if this involves spinning records by Patrick Cowley, Four Tet, Talking Heads, Dori Ghezzi o Kim Ann Foxman, I don't really care that much." "When I've been asked to record this mix I just discovered an 80s influenced, Hong Kong-based, disco and funk edit label. A nostalgic feeling for the Eighties, despite not having lived them, is the trait d'union of all my selections. Heavy basslines, dance-y vibes, a little bit of acid and guitar riffs here and there are merged together in a continuous flashback, back and forth across forty years."
