b'Subhash Jain is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at The University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, USA. He was born in India in a family that practiced Jainism and continued to do so after coming to the US in 1967.

After retiring in 2003, he concentrated on studying Indian Philosophy, particularly the Jain karma doctrine, and received another Ph.D. degree in Jain ology from the University of Madras, Chennai, India. He is the author of three books entitled \\u2018Rebirth of the Karma Doctrine,\\u2019 \\u2018Karma Doctrine and Rebirth in Jainism: A Logical Perspective,\\u2019 and \\u2018The Path to Inner Peace: Mastering Karma.\\u2019 He is keenly interested in delving into the nature of reality, has published several articles in magazines and journals on karma doctrine, and has given lectures in seminars and conferences.
