NLS 025: Desiderata - A Life Changing Poem for Hard Times
We have a special show this week. I\u2019ve always have loved the poem\xa0Desiderata\xa0and thought it would be of value to the NLS Tribe.
Found in Old Saint Paul\u2019s Church \u2013 Baltimore
In 1927 American writer Max Ehrmann (1872\u20131945) wrote the prose poem Desiderata, which was first published in The Poems of Max Ehrmann in 1948. In 1956, the Reverend Frederick Kates, rector of Saint Paul\u2019s Church in Baltimore, Maryland, included Desiderata in a compilation of devotional materials for his congregation. The compilation included the church\u2019s foundation date: \u201cOld Saint Paul\u2019s Church, Baltimore AD 1692\u201d. Consequently, the date of the text\u2019s authorship was (and still is) widely mistaken as 1692, the year of the church\u2019s foundation. \u2013\xa0Wikipedia
