Jason Heitkamp hopes to bring ND schools "back to the basics"

Jason Heitkamp is running for North Dakota Superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction, and is a current truck driver and former State Senator. His focus will be getting back to the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic in the schools, and reaching a higher standard of health and fitness. He also is is dead-set on ending public schools\u2019 reliance on property taxes.

He will be running against Superintendent Kirsten Baesler, Republican endorsed candidate Jim Bartlett, and Darko Draganic.\xa0
