Kirk Douglas
Hi guys and welcome back to the mystery and comedy old time radio podcast. I'm sorry I haven't been able to work on the podcast. but please welcome to the show tonight The famous actors Mr Kirk Douglas who's best know for the 1960 Action adventure Spartacus. he also appeared in more 60 movie and enjoyed his career until retiring in 2004. he also enjoyed spending time with his 4 sons who fallowed in there father's footsteps. His first son Michael douglas and his brother's are well know actors and producers. he also had grandchildren and great grandchildren. he enjoyed his retirement and spending time with his family until passing away in February of 2020 at the age of 103 . but what a lot of people may not know is that Mr Douglas also appeared behind the microphone starring in such shows as lux radio theater and suspense, many others. in this first episode Mr Douglas plays a young man who come from New York to start a new job at a grocery store as a liquor clerk who spot a beautiful woman who is a cashier. but unfortunately for him he finds out that she is married to the store butcher. and the episode is called the butcher wife. in the second episode Mr Douglas plays a man named mark ham who goes to an overseas trip to London to find more about Mr Edgar Allan Poe but ends up finding a manuscript of Mr Poe write and uses it to finish a story so he can win an Edgar poe writing award. but a man who works for the writing commission for the award ceremony knows what he has done and is going to blackmail. but unfortunately the man will stop at nothing to protect his secret and it's called the story markhams death.
