Director of the Industrial Cities Authority in the Ministry of Industry, Hamid Awad Muhammad, revealed, on Tuesday, that Iraq had received invitations from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Syria and Turkey, to establish new industrial cities.

\n

Muhammad indicated, "Meetings were held with delegations of most of these countries during the past two weeks at the Industrial Cities Conference held in Syria to discuss this matter, while the meeting took place with Turkey to establish an economic city in northern Iraq on the border separating the two countries."

\n

Regarding the economic city with Jordan, Muhammad confirmed, "All procedures are completed and approvals are obtained from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to allocate the land. Currently, the authority is preparing for the feasibility study phase and preparing the basic designs for the city by an international organization to be announced for development by contracting with international, international and regional companies, and transforming the area into Attractive to investors, industrialists and manpower.
