Episode 27 - Peter Tubb - It's A Family Affair

Published: July 23, 2020, 8 a.m.

My guest in this episode is Peter Tubb another dear friend, ex-colleague and amateur musician. Peter and his wife Stella are celebrating 40 years of marriage this year and, together with their three children James, George & Vanessa, its clear this is a family that loves their music.

Peter was born and raised in Bristol but at the age of 6 his family spent 3 years in Zambia where his father was helping the newly independent nation to set up its Post Office service.
This was a memorable and formative experience which results in  a great 60's choice
A  rugby trip to Cornwall at the age of 13 was Peter's route into taking up the guitar and forming a lifelong love of both the music of David Bowie ( who has featured heavily in recent episodes) as well as playing live in a series of very capable pub bands.

Having taken a year out in the early 80's to study Peter then joined the emerging IT Industry with Nixdorf Computers in Sheffield which was the start of a successful career with several companies including Microsoft, VMWare & Salesforce.  Peter joined the ranks of the retired, happy and fulfilled last year.

Peter has a great set of musical choices and the stories to go with them. For his 2020 wildcard choice he went with Summer Breeze by the Isley Brothers as his 2020's wildcard which , as he says, sums up everything he loves in music - great guitar , vocals and harmonies and a personal connection to go with it.

We covered a LOT of music in our chat and in fact this is the longest playlist that an episode has produced to date with 58 songs. You can find it here :
