Berl Oakley and his team are using Aspergillus nidulans to degrade plastic and then using the secondary metabolites to then cure cancer, make antibiotics, statins, antifungals and more to save people's lives. Berl Oakley is the Irving Johnson Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Kansas dedicating the last 40+ years to solving the world's biggest problems with fungi.
