In another generation, Faith Ford could have been the star of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.” She’s got that same TV spunk. But being recognized for nearly a decade of fine work as ditzy Corky Sherwood on the TV news satire “Murphy Brown” worked out pretty well for her as she got to nurture the character all the way from airhead to featherweight. FAITH FORD podcast excerpt: "I got offered to be a grandmother in something. I said, 'C'mon, be real!' I have to at least go into my 50s to do that." From there she moved into a headlining situation, co-starring with Kelly Ripa – you know, of “Regis & Kelly” – on an ABC sitcom, “Hope & Faith.” They played sisters on that show, which ran for three years. I’d like to say something clever about it, but, um, I never saw it. Sorry, Faith. If only I’d known that one day we’d be sitting on opposite ends of a phone line, you can betcha I would have watched! Anyway, Faith Ford is back on network TV with a new NBC movie, Field of Vision. She plays a mom of two teens who get involved with an old malfunctioning video camera. But I’ll let her set it up.
