Wally Lamb, I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE
b'I had the best time doing an Instagram Live with Wally Lamb who is the author of six New York Times\\xa0best-selling novels: I\\u2019ll Take You There, We Are Water, Wishin\\u2019 and Hopin\\u2019, The Hour I First Believed, I Know This Much is True, and She\\u2019s Come Undone. I Know This Much is True and She\\u2019s Come Undone were both selected for Oprah\\u2019s Book Club. Lamb also edited Couldn\\u2019t Keep It to Myself and I\\u2019ll Fly Away, two volumes of essays from students in his writing workshop at York Correctional Institution which is a women\\u2019s prison in Connecticut where he has been a volunteer facilitator for the past seventeen years. I Know This Much is True was first published in 1998, and has now been turned into an HBO original limited series which just aired. Wally and I talked about what drew him to write these characters originally, his curiosity about and research into mental illness, and being part of a fifteen year project to turn his writing into film.
