Kathleen and I chatted about the lessons she\\u2019s learned by walking the line between parent and teacher and the writing workshops she held with her students while editing the novel. Kathleen started writing this book as a new year\'s resolution and as a way to reclaim her writing identity. I really appreciated her advice to let yourself to write something terrible!
