Episode 08: Dr. Matema Imakumbili - Method Development in Soil Science

Dr. Matema Imakumbili is an independent researcher in soil science but her skills are not limited to soil science alone. Matema held a position as a behaviour change expert on a nutrition project. Matema enjoys action related development research that solves challenges faced by the rural poor. She studied at the Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania and now holds a PhD in Soil and Water management. Her PhD work focused on the role that low soil fertility has in causing increased cyanogenic glucoside levels in cassava in areas affected by a cassava cyanide related disorder called konzo.
