The Abundance Mind-Body Connection

Published: Sept. 24, 2020, 7 a.m.

When you hear the word “abundance,” what comes to mind? Maybe the first thing you think of is your bank account. And while that’s one way of measuring abundance, it’s a limited view of the concept of abundance.

Abundance means plenty.

And is about more than money. Think health, relationships, time, energy, and self-image.

Abundance is everything.

Yet money is a great metaphor for whether we’re embracing abundance or pushing it away. If it feels like there’s not enough in your bank account, then my (evidence-based) guess is that you probably feel you don’t have enough in other areas of your life.

Abundance is everything — it’s a way of life. You have access to an internal flow of abundance just because you’re here.

And here’s the interesting thing — your body will tell you when you’re not living in abundance.

When you sit down to pay the bills and get a knot in your belly, that’s uneasiness. And abundance cannot flow to you in that state.

Your state (there’s that word again) — is key. It’s crucial you manage your state to tap into the flow of abundance that’s always there, and it starts by noticing and appreciating the abundant things in your life.

See if you can notice some good things around you right now.

Even if you’re thinking, “But I can’t think of anything.”

That’s when we need to go back to basics.

Are you breathing? Notice and be thankful.

Did the sun come up this morning? It did here, and it was beautiful.

Do you have a memory of feeling loved? Remember and bask in it.

Once you’re in an improved state and feeling the abundance that’s there, then pay your bills from a state of plenty. And as you write the checks, or click that payment button, remember the amazing things you get in return — water, electricity, heating and cooling, and even that comfy new sofa.

And notice how different you feel in your body. See how your face softens to a smile.

Your body is your gateway to connection and your spiritual experience.

I invite you to tune in. Listen to your body. It will tell you how you’re doing.
