Are you living inside of stressful stories that don’t serve your life?

Why should you be aware of the emotional triggers in your body?

Do you know what your core values are?

In this episode, my guest is Tayo Rockson.

Tayo Rockson is a man whose work I’m just beginning to learn about. He’s been a podcast host since 2014 – which I was very impressed to learn about – but more than that, I admire his work as a co-founder at UYD Management (which I believe stands for Use Your Differences) – a strategic consulting firm that empowers organizations to incorporate sustainable diversity and inclusion practices.

Now, those are interesting words – diversity and inclusion – that in our currently polarized society can trigger a variety of responses depending on the listener, from appreciation and gratitude to resistance and anger to just pure indifference. But that’s what makes Tayo’s work so important.

We are clearly living in a time when the differences between people are being increasingly highlighted and blown up in ways that are leading to actual violence.

So learning how to navigate our differences, in ways that preserve partnership, is essential. If we genuinely want to live in a world where we all get to feel safe, nourished, and supported to live good lives.

Seems to me that’s what Tayo’s work is all about, and why I invited him onto Men, This Way.

As the son of a diplomat, Tayo grew up immersed in the nuances of multicultural diversity by living on four different continents. He’s since become a world renowned speaker, and he’s the author of Use Your Difference To Make A Difference: How to Connect and Communicate in a Cross-Cultural World.” In 2020, he launched the national anti-racism campaign called #LetsTalkBias.

In our conversation today, Tayo and I explore a life journey that began for him with a near-death car accident at age 22. We talk about strategies for bridging painful differences with the people we love. We talk about the value and practice of courage.

We talk about all that, and more.

One more thing, my new book, “CHOOSE HER EVERYDAY OR LEAVE HER” recently hit #12 on Amazon in the Dating genre. Overnight it shot up from 59,000th in all sales to 1600th in all sales. Now, I have no idea what any of that really means, except that it means people are buying it and reading it and word is spreading and they’re getting real value out of it … “Choose Her Every Day Or Leave Her” – essential reading for any man or woman who genuinely wants to thrive in intimacy. Go get it online wherever you buy your books.
