We are examining Chapter 27 & 28 in which Dresden gets caught in a burning ring of toadstool and gets shot from a cannon.

Summer Knight Chapter 27 Summary:

Dresden finds himself trapped in a magical circle. Aurora forces Dresden to tell her what he has figured out, and Harry admits he knows she is responsible for the Summer Knight\\u2019s death and plans to destroy the balance between Summer and Winter.

Summer Knight Chapter 28 Summary:

Just as Dresden plans to unleash his death curse, Elaine proposes a new plan to bind and drown him. They leave Harry to die alone sinking in the mud. Harry recognizes a cryptic message Elaine gave him and finds a way to break the binding and free himself from the death trap.
