Night Shift Prayers
\\n
\\n 
\\n
\\nThe last sip, cold in the cup,
\\n
\\npatients\\u2019 lives tethered
\\n
\\nto your choices, the second
\\n
\\nhand clicks straight up.
\\n
\\nHours of charts, call lights,
\\n
\\nand carts between you
\\n
\\nand the moment you strip off
\\n
\\nyour gloves, feel air against
\\n
\\nyour palms again. Until then,
\\n
\\nknow you are held. I clasp
\\n
\\nyou,  remember you
\\n
\\nin my nightly prayers.
