Though still a minority, women working in film production is on the rise. Daniel Litwin talks to two female video professionals to get a first-person perspective on being a woman in the industry on this episode of Marketscale Creates.\\n\\n\\nJessie Anderson-Berens, Owner, Videographer, and Producer at Palmetto Coast Media has been in the film industry for over fourteen years. At the start of her career, there were hardly any other women to be found. But today, with the help of social media and a vast network, Jessie surrounds herself with a positive team and a community of passionate Charleston-based video professionals. Her company, Palmetto Coast Media, serves as a one-stop-shop for production needs, be it wedding videos or documentaries.\\n\\n\\nBeverly Tan, Founder and Storyteller at Fire & Spunk Productions, has recently graduated into a new era of film production and has found the Facebook community of female media professionals to be invaluable in offering camaraderie and job opportunities. With her eye on TV and Film, Tan is always on the hunt for good stories that have drama and intrigue.\\n\\n\\n\\u201cFilmmaking is the most collaborative art form there is,\\u201d said Tan in a nod to the many different shoes the women have filled throughout their careers. Both Andersen-Berens and Tan\\u2019s experience shows they do more on the set than \\u201cshow up and shoot.\\u201d Be it as a CEO, producer, or freelancer, the women have both had storied careers. They prove to be not just good female filmmakers, but good filmmakers. Call it a woman\\u2019s touch or simply sublime filmmaking, their work resonates deeply with viewers, no matter the genre.'
