DON’T SENSATIONALIZE YOUR MARKETING.

I remember years ago a saying about “sending the sizzle” as it relates to sales and marketing.

They were referring the metaphor of fajitas in a restaurant that comes out of the kitchen on a hot plate making all kinds of sizzling noises as the server brings it to the table.

They do this to entice others to buy fajitas too, at least that’s how the metaphor goes.

But here’s where that gets you in trouble (it gets us all in trouble!)...
