EPISODE 63: Early in 1965, FELIX CAVALIERE formed the \\u2018Young Rascals\\u2019 with Dino Danelli, Eddie Brigati, and Gene Cornish. That October, they caught the attention of promoter/manager Sid Bernstein with their high-energy set at Long Island\\u2019s elite club, Barge. Signed to Atlantic Records, and now called The Rascals, the mega hit \\u201cGood Lovin\\u2019\\u201d struck No. 1 in February 1966. They followed suit with a string of hits like \\u201cI\\u2019ve Been Lonely Too Long,\\u201d \\u201cGroovin\\u2019(No. 1 in 1967), \\u201cHow Can I Be Sure,\\u201d \\u201cA Girl Like You,\\u201d \\u201cA Beautiful Morning,\\u201d and \\u201cPeople Got to Be Free\\u201d (No. 1 in 1968). The Rascals are considered the best \\u2018blue-eyed soul\\u2019 group to come out of the 1960s, as well as one of the groups with the most record sales. He is a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriter Hall of Fame, Vocal Group Hall of Fame, and Grammy Hall of Fame.
