A funeral march based on the children\\u2019s song \\u201cFr\\xe8re Jacques\\u201d (or \\u201cBruder Jacob\\u201d). The third movement acts as the slow movement in the four-movement plan. The extra-musical idea behind it is that of a hunter\\u2019s funeral and a procession of animals that follows.
