Today's episode of the Live Life Extraordinary Podcast is all about having a positive mindset. The mind tends to be one of the strongest things that steers us in the wrong direction. If our mindset is unhealthy and negative, it causes us to have a disconnect from ourselves spiritually and a disconnect from our bodies.
\nThere's a lot of stuff happening in the mind like: overthinking things, creating lists of things to do, coming up with reasons why we're not capable of doing things and why we're not good enough. The mind is where we store a lot of our trauma, trauma also gets stored in the body, but a lot of it is intellectualized in the mind.
\nWe have a conscious mind that we're very aware of and we have the subconscious mind where some of our lesser known and recognized thought processes are taking place.
\nIf you have a negative mindset, it is going to affect the way you show up in your life in your relationships, your career, your life purpose, etc. The mindset that you have about yourself and about the world around you, controls basically everything. You can be subconsciously, self sabotage and engage in behaviors that are not of your highest good.
\nEvery single day, we have somewhere between 12,000 and 60,000 thoughts and about 90% of the thoughts you have today will be the exact same thoughts as you had yesterday. Now, if you are not actively working on your mindset, that means that these thoughts are going to be repeating over a course of time. These thoughts that are controlling your reality could be 10 or 20 years old. When we are children, and our mind is in the developmental phases, that shapes the way we think.
\nThe mind can be tricky and can convince us that we need to be something else, do something else, go somewhere else, etc. In order to be good enough or worthy enough. Working on having a more positive mindset, a more aligned mindset is beneficial in becoming the highest and best version of yourself and creating the highest and best version of your life. You can't have a negative mindset and be the highest version of yourself and be your soul's full essence. You can't be the best version of yourself with a negative mindset.
\nReworking your mindset starts with being present and building awareness. If you are unconsciously going throughout your day, getting frustrated/irritated or avoiding your feelings by scrolling online or watching TV the first step is to become aware of what your thoughts are. What are you thinking about your job? What do you think about your relationship? How do you think about yourself? When you look in the mirror? What do you think about the people that you see, when you scroll online? Just start to get curious about the types of thoughts that you're having. And then after you have this awareness, the next part is to recognize that you are not your thoughts. This is incredibly important. Because we get so caught up in believing everything that we think is true. The first thought that you have in any given situation is often the programmed response, underneath that, is your soul's truth.
\nOnce you have the awareness and you separate from the thoughts, it's then about choosing again, choosing the positive thoughts that are in alignment with your greatest truth.
