The Revivalists

New Orleans has long been a musical hotbed in the realms of jazz, soul and otherwise. Nola-bred The Revivalists apply jazz and soul elements to good ol' fashioned rock 'n' roll, and this year they released a new record, Take Good Care, their first since 2015's Men Amongst Mountains and produced by highly-favored Nashvillian producer Dave Cobb. This Nov. 13 session marks the band's second time in the Paste Studio, and they treated us to acoustic versions of three songs: "All My Friends," "When I'm With You" and "Shoot You Down," an anti-gun violence anthem. If you haven't heard The Revivalists' new record yet, chances are you've still heard "Wish I Knew You," their massive streaming and alt-radio hit from 2015 that has appeared in commercials. Frontman Dave Shaw and guitarist Zach Feinberg appeared in place of The Revivalists' usual seven-piece lineup.
