San Fermin

Brooklyn band San Fermin just released their grandiose new album The Cormorant I last month on Sony Music Masterworks. They stopped by the Paste Studio NYC ahead of album release day (Friday, Oct. 4) to play three of the album's nine songs, including the beautiful "The Hunger," the more subdued "Summer by the Void" and the equally lovely "Saints." Before departing, however, they surprised us with one delightful cover: an acoustic take on Carly Rae Jepsen's "Run Away With Me," the opening track on the Canadian pop singer's quintessential 2010 album Emotion. It's an interesting and riveting interpretation of one of this decade's best songs. Claire Wellin and Karlie Bruce share vocal duties. Their voices together make for an incredibly warm combination.
