According to the BBC article, \u201cLithuanian Jews Revive Yiddish,\u201d before World War II there were over 250,000 Jews in Lithuania.\xa0 Because of the Nazi Holocaust there are only about 5,000 Jews in the country today and only a few can speak Yiddish.\xa0 Members of the Lithuanian Jewish community are working hard to revive the language and one of the few places you can still hear Yiddish spoken in public is the Vilnius Choral Synagogue.
