This week your hosts' discuss Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones! This book was the inspiration for Hayao Miyazaki's popular animated film but there are quite a few differences. Sophie, the eldest of three sisters, is turned into an old woman by the Witch of the Waste. Due to this she leaves her hat shop and family behind and finds herself the house keeper for Wizard Howl, his fire-demon Calcifer, and his apprentice Michael. In order to lift her spell she makes a deal with Calcifer and promises to help him break his contract with Howl. Of course things do not go as planned and Sophie finds herself having all kinds of adventures!
