BIOGRAPHY:Robert Schoch has a Ph.D. in Geology and Geophysics from Yale and has been working in Egypt focusing on the Great Sphinx and Great Pyramid, since 1990. He is a tenured full-time faculty member at the College of General Studies of Boston University where he has taught a variety of science courses since 1984. Based on his geological studies, Robert has determined that the Sphinx's origins go back to pre-dynastic times, thousands of years older than previously thought. In recent years, Dr. Schoch has expanded his research to encompass pyramids and associated structures around the world.Besides his academic and scholarly studies, Dr. Schoch is an active environmental advocate who stresses a pragmatic, hands-on approach. In this connection, he helped found a local community land trust devoted to protecting land from harmful development, serving on its Board of Directors for many years. And despite acknowledging that our Sun is a major driver of climate on the planet, Dr. Schoch takes an active part in \u201cgreen\u201d politics; for over a decade he served as an elected member of his local city council.Tonight Dr. Schoch will discuss his research as well as The Sun's role in our origins and history.Robert's research has moved well beyond his early Sphinx work. He has authored many books including Forgotten Civilizations The Role of Solar Outbursts in Our past and Future
