You might think being from Utah that we totally hijacked this title from the license plates “Life Elevated” logo, or the Christian concept of “Elevated Life” from it being Easter week, and either way you might be right…However, the PRINCIPLE of ELEVATE may inherently reside within both these concepts. Let’s see!

Taekwondo is known for its kicking beauty, speed and athleticism. This match was definitively all of the above. However Melody was tired of this back and forth display of flexibility and speed and wanted the match to end. This time when her opponent threw a perfect round kick to her hogu (chest protector) Melody stepped in to it, circled with all its power and ELEVATED it slightly, throwing her opponent to the ground. Su Lin lay there gasping for air and unable to continue.

Melody knew this throw was illegal, and cost her the match, she also knew that the back and forth dance of kicks was going nowhere, and her Hapkido instinct took over. Melody’s opponent, Su Lin, eventually came to and they hugged as she exited the platform with her default silver medal, and a very happy Su Lin with her gold, this year’s grand champion!

Sometimes we find ourselves, in the fight, trading blows back and forth, never losing and yet never winning. In our daily fight for success, do we consider the meaning we are attributing to it?

Sometimes, an ELEVATED view, or higher viewpoint might be in order. Looking at struggle from an ELEVATED view, or even implementing an ELEVATED way of doing, learning, or being, is like beginning again. Within the experience the feeling of so new, so fresh and so alive the words “born again” easily come to mind.

One might even say that ELEVATING thoughts, actions and being is like letting go of an old life, and experiencing a new life altogether….ELEVATE Life!
