Welcome! In this episode of Level Up! With Shay, Nick Dee (they/them) is an actor, performer, comedian, writer, musician, photographer, I could go on, shares their story of becoming super resourceful and motivated to do what they love. They started at the The Theater of the Arts in Philly, performed in NYC for four years and after slipping on ice and busting their face open, they decided the cold weather was not for them. So then brought on the journey to Los Angeles, sleeping on their friends couch, while saving up money through bartending and other odd jobs to get their own place. Through working in and out of the entertainment business, Nick Dee realized that if they wanted to be in projects, they\u2019d have to make their own since most female roles were not up their alley. They moved into comedy, started writing and performing more, and it eventually led them to teaching themselves how to take professional photos. After spending a lot of time shooting for free for their friends, breaking into places to get the best shot, and traveling the world to get IG high quality photos, they started their own photography business in 2018. I\u2019m sure this conversation will spark some ideas in your mind about how to be more resourceful and how to use whatever mindset you have to level up your life NOW!
