Tribute to Mahalia Jackson: Ms. Mahalia was widely considered one of the most influential gospel singers of the century. She sang at venues throughout the country and abroad. She sang for over 40 years spreading the good news of the Gospel by singing and teaching. Not only did Mahalia sing on church alters, stages and outdoor festivals; she also sang in several feature film movies.
\\nThis episode shares the mic with Dr. Charles Clencey and Dwayne Lightsey Jr. as we joined together and share knowledge and love of the late great Ms. Mahaila Jackson. This show is a tribute to her memory and to share information about Ms. Jackson. We have first hand encounters from the experience of Dr. Clencey whom served as her last accompanist. He shared the stage with her, traveled with her and was her friend.
\\nMr. Dwyane Lightsey Jr. shares the love he has for her and her music. He has studied video\'s and records of Mahalia and gives insight to things that may not havebeen noticed while live on stage, but the camera caught. Dwayne features a library of her music and videos on his YouTube channel "Rowchoes".
