CB Women: Liz Gehringer

“I love focusing on women because I think… sometimes they don’t know their own strength and sometimes they try to temper their strength… And I think maybe there is a holding back… I like to just make sure that, if I spot that,… people are comfortable being a full fledged voice in the discussion and in the business conversation because everyone’s ideas are valuable. And I want to make sure they’re being shared.” Liz Gehringer, COO of Coldwell Banker, is a woman who loves change. She’s gone from field servicing for car dealers, to litigation, to heading up culture, ethics and compliance at a Fortune 500 company (Realogy); and now she is the COO of one of the largest real estate franchises on the planet. In this conversation, Liz shares her perspective on change and her passion for management through relationship building. She shares why she strives to be a leader that creates work environments where people are engaged and challenged; and where women realize their full value in the workplace – especially at times when they are also acting as caregivers. Amongst all this, Liz is also a mom. She shares how she keeps the two worlds connected by getting her kids involved in her work, and viewing her family as “part of the team.” The CBWomen series, on the Leave Your Mark podcast by Coldwell Banker, shines a spotlight on women who are leading in their company, their business and their community - with the goal of inspiring all women to find their path to the leadership in real estate.
