Ashlee was active duty for 14 years with the Coast Guard and earned the Air Medal for her heroic rescue efforts during HURRICANE HARVEY in 2017. She wrote a book called The Hurricane Within, where she discusses her trauma of being a victim of sexual assault, a diagnosis of an immunodeficiency disease, along with the triumph of being an honored guest of President Trump at his first State of the Union address.
