January 27, 2021 \u2014 The Board of Supervisors agreed unanimously to move ahead with soil testing for a $35 million state-funded water and sewer project in Boonville yesterday, over objections from the Fair Board.\nAnd Public Health Officer Dr. Andy Coren reported that 11,000 people in Mendocino County have been vaccinated, including 70% of school staff. Four nursing homes have been vaccinated by pharmacies under the contract with the federal government, and the state is considering moving away from the equity-based method of vaccinations toward a system prioritizing the elderly. In Mendocino County, 308 of the 3293 known cases have occurred in people over 65, though most of the 36 deaths are among senior citizens. Fully a third of the known cases are in people between the ages of 19 and 34, and a little over fourteen hundred of the cases have been in people between the ages of 35 and 64.\nBoard members also expressed dissatisfaction with the quality and the amount of information provided by Measure B project manager Alyson Bailey, unanimously approving a motion that read like a checklist of the update they expected...
