b"This week we are Kush Chatting with Singer/Songwriter Sumya. Being a middle eastern girl with big hopes and dreams of one day singing on the big stage and getting the recognition deserved. The process was one of the most unique triggering moments that led to who she is as an artist. She dropped her first EP on Soundcloud \\u201cOverdue\\u201d in 2017 after all the reactions and 50,000 + streams. She was in shock, happy, and sad because she still live with this deep thought of her religious actions and passions. \\u201cFavors\\u201d racked up streams and she decided to fully reveal herself since the music didn't have a face to match yet. She grew up with a strict sheild over her and this is where \\u201cDaddy Issues\\u201d comes in to play.. She says \\u201cAs a Muslim girl your father is suppose to be your first love someone to run to when your sad, happy, someone to fall on when you just cant take it. He left my mom with 4 kids no education and a house in foreclosure.. like thinking of it now i know why my life is the way it is. I have severe trauma from my childhood and me being the quiet black sheep of the family. my gift was my escape singing is my freedom. My music is like when your life falls apart and falls right back into place. Healing.\\u201d."
