This week we are Kush Chatting with Alex Piffington who considers himself a concept artist born and raised in Washington Heights, a mostly dominican populated neighborhood in upper manhattan, Alex Piffington has been experimenting with sounds since as far back as high school. It all started with a love for rock which was highly influenced by his fathers constant blaring of bands such as Queen and Pink Floyd. Soon the band Marigold was born (Marigoldnewyork on instagram.) Marigold is Alex's baby and an always in the work project that consists of psychedelic latin jazz rock. Some time around 2017 Alex began dabbling in the field of audio engineering. Picking up a ZOOM R24 interface as suggested by his long standing friend and teacher Albert Palacios, it was with this tool that My Religion Is Me was recorded. "It all began when I had a lot of downtime and wanted to record other artists. I realized that I had all of the tools that I needed to record myself. "And so it was written." With the help of fellow contemporaries Sebastian Sol and Jason Moya Chase, Alex set out to leave a mark in the destructive era of the current world and also in his hometown of Washington Heights. *Pokemon Music Ensues* --- This episode is sponsored by ยท Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/keon-torres7/support
