Los Angeles is in the midst of major changes to how it generates and uses electricity. In a recent announcement Mayor Eric Garcetti pledged to stop the re-powering of 3 gas plants and to put LA on the path to getting power only from renewable sources. This victory didn't come without a fight though; neighborhood groups and community organizers spent years developing these plans before finding real political traction.\n\nAlex Nagy and Walker Foley, organizers with Food and Water Watch, join me to talk about how LA has a unique moment to lead the nation in sustainability.
