S4E0 Bonus: Ancestry and Culture Discussion

Published: Nov. 10, 2020, 1 p.m.

b"A few members of the cast gather virtually to discuss some important changes to creating characters, not just for our game, but for the D&D community. Sparked from discussions around the concepts of Race and Class abilities, and the inherent challenges of character backgrounds, we have an honest discussion about how ancestry and culture can be redefined in RPGs, and D&D. Our cast is using the module Ancestry and Culture: An Alternative to Race in 5e from Arcanist Press, and expanding those ideas in More Ancestries & Cultures.\\xa0 \\xa0There have also been some updated rules for modifying a character's racial traits within the most recent publication Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. The second half of the episode features a Bachelorette style character background selection, where Jen listens to four backgrounds and choses which ones she'd like to make a fun new character. It's as goofy as it sounds.\\xa0\\nFeaturing Zach Stones, Jeff Frank, Jen Crespo, Chris Daily, and Carlos Guzman.\\n\\xa0\\nIf you enjoy the show, please consider taking a minute to leave us a rating and review on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, or whatever platform you listen on.
