Rep. Alexander serves the 2nd Legislative District. \nRep. Alexander is from Olympia. He is the ranking Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, which is the committee that crafts the state operating budget. \n\nDuring this interview we talked about the state budget, the projected deficit, and education funding \u2013 since he was on the task force on education that met over the interim to address the state Supreme Court mandates on education.\n\nHe is also a co-sponsor of House Joint Resolution 4206, which would amend the state\u2019s constitution to add the 2/3rd majority requirement for the Legislature to raise taxes (Taxpayer Protection Act).
