The suffragettes tried to assuage the fears of men who were worried that perhaps voting would keep women from cooking by writing some cookbooks to make them feel better and to raise some money for the cause. The book we talk about today raised $4,000 for the movement which is ironic since that\'s how much a second edition of the book goes for today. Inflation amirite?
